Navy Tank Gland Packing

A flexible seal with a hollow rubber core, protected by two layers of wear-resistant PTFE. This core is surrounded by thick, angled polypropylene wadding, which is also sheathed in PTFE tape and an outer braided PTFE sleeve.

It is available in square and rectangular profiles, supplied in rolls or as preformed rings for chemical inspection hatches and transport tanks. The seal maintains elasticity and provides a reliable hermetic seal up to a maximum operating temperature of 100°C. Its flexibility allows it to conform to surface irregularities on doors and covers.

For an effective seal, the groove dimensions must be calculated precisely, with a cross-section tolerance of -1 to +2 mm.
