Knitwrap Black E Glass

Manufactured from Black E Glass fibre yarns designed for wrapping exhaust manifolds and down pipes to improve engine performance and to protect heat sensitive components running close to the exhaust.

Exhaust wraps are used on high performance car engines and have also proved popular with motorcycle enthusiasts. What makes KNITWRAP different from woven glass fibre exhaust is that knitted products by their nature are soft and extremely conformable. In addition, when the tape is wrapped in a half lap the knitted construction actually creates and traps small pockets of air which contribute to the insulation properties.

There are advantages to keeping vehicle exhaust gases hot including:

• Decreased exhaust gas density leading to improved exhaust flow.
• Increased hot exhaust flow helps improve engine performance by allowing cooler air to enter the engine which helps maximise horsepower output.
