- Textile Technologies are able to apply a specialist heat treatment known as caramelisation.
- The heat treatment burns off any unwanted volatiles and starches which were applied to the yarns to aid the weaving process.
- The heat treatment turns the fibre a light tan "caramel" colour.
- Caramelisation also reduces fly and irritation.
- The fabric is rated up to 550°C in optimum conditions.
- Caramelisation can be applied to all weights of loomstate E glass cloth both continuous filament and textured.
