Silica Processing Yarn
- S-TEX silica yarns are manufactured to contain a minimum of 94% silicon dioxide which ensures the yarns can withstand temperatures of up to 1000°C in optimum conditions.
- Silica textiles have low thermal conductivity, high resistance to thermal shock, superb electric insulation characteristics at high temperatures acid and alkali resistance (up to pH14) in comparison with fibres made of E Glass and Basalt.
- They operate effectively under conditions of cyclical thermal loads.
- Texturised silica yarns have been put through a specialist process which adds bulk and volume to the fibre to improve their thermal qualities.
