Acoustic Heat Shields
- Stitch Bonded E Glass fibre needle-mat, faced one side with either a stamped or perforated high micron Aluminium Foil. The other side (underside) has a high performance pressure sensitive self-adhesive for ease of applying the heat shield in situ.
- Available in sheets or can be die-cut to size and shape.
- The adhesive face can be used at continuous temperatures up to 180°C.
- The reflective (heat source facing) side can withstand radiant heat up to 250°C in optimum conditions.
- Provides both thermal and acoustic insulation in areas exposed to extreme variations of temperature and high levels of noise emission from metal surface.
- Acoustic Heat Shield (Perforated Aluminium Foil) has better sound absorption properties than Acoustic Heat Shield (Stamped Aluminium Foil) as the perforations in the foil allow the sound waves to travel and absorb through it and in to the mat.
- An additional middle layer of Bitumen can be incorporated in to the above Heat Shields to introduce some sound damping properties as well as airborne sound insulation.
