Basalt boasts a high degree of compactness and strength, making it immune to alteration and able to withstand mechanical stress and impact. FRCM Reinforcement Systems
In compliance with the parameters dictated by the Qualification Guidelines issued by the Superior Council of Public Works, FRCM composites are made of an inorganic matrix based on cement mortar or lime, together with a textile reinforcement - usually an AR glass fibre mesh impregnated with polymeric resins.
AR fibreglass meshes suitable for application on FRCM systems are meant for the restoration of already-existing brick, stone or masonry buildings, damaged as a result of exceptional events such as earthquakes or the degradation of the metal reinforcement, and showing cracks in the mortars of reinforced concrete.
CRM Reinforcement Systems
The CRM reinforcement systems, regulated by the Qualification Guidelines issued by the Superior Council of Public Works, are an innovative technique applied to existing walls to replace the traditional reinforced plaster. They can be applied either on one side or on both sides of the structure, embedded in a structural cement mortar.
AR Gavazzi® glass fibre meshes stand out for the type of thermosetting impregnation which is used in compliance with all legal requirements. More specifically, the thermosetting resin penetrates inside the fiber, completely impregnating it and guaranteeing the mortar-mesh system performance efficiency to be of approximately 100%. This means that maximum adherence between the reinforcement and the support is ensured, making it possible for the system to work as a single body when subjected to seismic stress.
Gavazzi products for CRM systems, in addition to being compliant with Italian legislation, have obtained the ETA (European Technical Evaluation) and the consequent CE marking, valid internationally.
