Alumina Silica Fibre Technical Information
Alumina silica fibre is produced in four grades:
-
G2 Type – Alumina / Silica ratio 60% / 40%
- G2 type has excellent flexibility and softness due to containing 40% of silica.
- G2 type can continuously resist temperatures up to 1200°C in optimum conditions.
-
F2 Type – Alumina / Silica ratio 72% / 28%
- F2 type is the most common type of yarn. Most of our products are made by using alumina silica F2 yarn.
- F2 type of yarn can continuously resist temperatures up to 1250°C in optimum conditions.
-
E3 Type – Alumina / Silica ratio 80% / 20%
- E3 type can continuously resist the temperatures up to 1300°C in optimum conditions.
-
FB3 Type – Alumina / Silica / Boron ratio 70% / 28% / 2%
- FB3 type has the best thermal resistance and hardness among all type of alumina silica.
- FB3 contains 2% boron.
- FB3 type can continuously resist the temperatures up to 1395°C in optimum conditions.
Alumina silica fibre has the following key characteristics for thermal applications:
- Excellent thermal resistance.
- Great flexibility.
- Superior thermal insulation properties.
- High tensile strength and modulus.
- Superior electrical insulation properties.
- Corrosion resistant.
- Does not absorb moisture
