PTFE Coated E Glass Rope Packing

PTFE coated E-glass packing is a high-performance rope seal manufactured from braided E-glass fibre yarns and finished with a dry or wet PTFE coating. The PTFE treatment seals the surface fibres, creating a smooth, non-stick and highly impermeable barrier that reduces friction, limits fibre shedding and improves chemical resistance.

The E-glass fibre base is rated for temperatures up to 550°C, while the PTFE coating provides effective sealing and low-friction performance up to approximately 260°C in continuous service. At higher temperatures the PTFE layer will gradually degrade, leaving the underlying E-glass packing to continue providing thermal stability. Available in round, square or rectangular sections, PTFE coated E-glass packing is commonly used where cleanliness, chemical resistance and reliable sealing are required.
