Vectran® Webbing Tape

• Vectran®, produced by Kuraray, is a high-performance yarn made from liquid crystal polymer.
•  It is renowned for its exceptional strength, boasting a high strength-to-weight ratio, low creep, and strong resistance to abrasion. 
• Vectran® webbing and straps also exhibit excellent flex fatigue, allowing the fibres to endure repeated bending without losing integrity.
• However, Vectran® is susceptible to UV radiation, which can weaken its strength. 
  Despite this, it has minimal moisture absorption and outstanding chemical resistance, making it ideal for use in environments with moisture or corrosive elements, such as protective clothing and deep-sea operations. 
• Vectran® is also gaining popularity in aerospace applications, including several NASA inflatable spacecraft that utilize Vectran® fibres. 
• Its melting point is 350°C.
