PTFE Glass Sewing Thread

Product Description
  • PTFE glass sewing threads are manufactured from E or S2 glass continuous filament yarns which are then encapsulated in PTFE to enhance the resistance to contaminate build up and to repel attacks from most acids and alkalis.
  • The PTFE coating is smooth and consistent allowing minimal possibility of kink, strip back and breakage that can be experienced using other very high temperature yarns.
  • Oil can be added to the yarn for lubrication to aid smooth running through the sewing machine
  • E Glass fibre is rated to 550°C and S2 Glass fibre is rated to 750°C in optimum conditions.
  • S2 Glass has approximately 30% higher tensile strength than E Glass.
Applications
  • High Temperature Sewn Fabrications.
      • Welding Blankets and Curtains.
      • Fire Curtains.
      • Insulation Jackets, Turbo Jackets and Engine Covers.
      • Other High Temperature Thermal Covers.
