Notes on Continuous Filament E Glass Yarns
Continuous filament E Glass yarns are produced by drawing molten glass through precision bushings to create filaments typically ranging from 4 to 13 microns in diameter. The resulting yarns offer excellent tensile strength, dimensional stability, electrical insulation properties and thermal resistance, making them suitable for weaving, braiding, knitting, twisting, electrical insulation products, composites and high temperature technical textiles.
The most commonly used industrial constructions are based on 6µm and 9µm filament diameters, offering an excellent balance of processing performance, strength and flexibility.
