Custom-Made Flame Resistant Welding Blanket
Product Description
Textile Technologies in partnership with Texfire offers custom-made welding blankets designed to shield equipment, structures, and workspaces from sparks and incandescent projections generated during welding, cutting, and grinding operations. Each blanket is tailored to the customer’s specifications, using fire-resistant fabrics selected according to the type of welding work involved—ensuring the highest level of safety and durability.
Crafted with flame retardant meta-aramid thread and reinforced along the edges with durable bias tape, these bespoke welding blankets are built to withstand demanding industrial environments. For added functionality, Texfire offers the option to include metal eyelets at 50 cm intervals, allowing secure attachment to surfaces or frames.
Custom blankets can be produced in sizes up to 7.5 × 10 metres. For larger dimensions, customers are encouraged to contact Texfire directly to explore tailored solutions.
Texfire offers three advanced fabric options, each delivering specialised performance:
Weld S1 Blanket
Made with WELS1 fabric, this lightweight and flexible blanket features a high-temperature silicone coating on one side, preventing particles from sticking and extending the product’s lifespan. Waterproof and easy to handle, it withstands continuous exposure to 250 °C and thermal peaks up to 550 °C. Ideal for vertical or diagonal placement.
Weld S2 Blanket
Constructed from WELS2 fabric with a silicone coating on both sides, this blanket delivers robust protection against metal splashes and sparks. Fully waterproof and usable on either side, it is easy to clean and designed to perform in environments with continuous temperatures of 300 °C and peaks up to 900 °C. Recommended for vertical or diagonal use.
Weld SX Blanket
Texfire’s most advanced solution, the WELD SX blanket combines a high-temperature silicone-coated surface with a Preox thermal barrier backing. It not only contains incandescent particles but also minimises heat transfer—making it suitable for all welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Electrode, Spot) and cutting methods (plasma, oxyfuel, grinding, etc.). It withstands continuous temperatures of 500 °C and peak temperatures reaching 1300 °C. This is the only blanket on the market that simultaneously insulates against heat and contains molten projections.
All fabric options meet strict international fire safety standards:
-
WELS1: UNE 23727 – M1 classification
-
WELS2: UNE 23727 – M1, UNE 13773 – Class 1, EN ISO 13501-1 – A2 s1 d0
-
WELD SX: EN ISO 13501-1 – B s1 d0, UNE 23727 – M2 classification
Texfire’s tailored welding blankets offer dependable, professional-grade protection—custom-fit to your project requirements and certified to meet the highest safety benchmarks.
